Jose Prendes is well known for his contributions to Horror cinema. From the supernatural to psychological thrillers Prendes has touched on the many incarnations of terror. His latest film Blood Brothers releases in 2015.

Prendes along with his wife Jessica are spearheading an event that places focus on entertainment for children of all ages. This is not a typical family outing to the circus or the local zoo. What happens when lightsabers, magic, and superheroes are combined? Kid Kon!

According to the press release:

The purpose of Kid Kon is that as fans of popular entertainment, families often take their kids to conventions all the time, and half the time kids are bored out of their minds because the programming is usually skewed toward an older audience. Plus, parents don’t have to worry about adult themed costumes in the presence of their kids.

Kid Kon serves as the stepping stone for youngsters to become best acquainted with cosplaying,  comics and various mediums of pop culture. Many activities will be on hand for the two-day event.  Below is a list of confirmed activities and guest appearances;

DJ Lance Rock from Yo Gabba Gabba DJ’ng the entire con.

Jedi Training
Harry Potter Improv
DJ Lance Rock from Yo Gabba Gabba Dance Party
Kids Costume Contest
How to Be a Ghostbuster
Princess Party
Superhero Bash
Laser Tag
Drum Circles
Performance by kids band, Just Kidding
Free Kids Yoga
Mom and Baby Lounge (a quiet room to take a breather from the convention)
