Overview

The 2017 Women In Horror Film Festival (WIHFF) met its debut last year with a great reception and success. The second annual film festival that pays homage to women’s role in the film industry focusing on Horror and its related sub-genres.

The 2018 WIHFF featured over seventy (70) films over the course of its four (4) day event. Also featured were the From Indie to Studio Panel and Diversity Visibility Panel informative platforms drawing on topics concise with current independent performing art and its social landscape. With the addition of a live read of the short screenplays, screenwriters also benefitted and received the opportunity to have their creativity heard.

2018 WIHFF hosted prominent guest speakers including Producer Marianne Maddalena, Actress Trina Parks, best-selling horror author Mylo Carbia, Prop Designer Gillian Albinski, and Director of Photography Mark Simon, Special Effects Artist Stacy Palmer, Actor, and Director Brian Ashton Smith, and Actress, Director, Producer, Writer Melissa Kunnap.

Director, Producer, Writer Samantha Kolesnik and Director, Producer, Writer Vanessa Ionta Wright serve as WIHFF Founders and Festival Directors
