“A Nightmare on Elm Street” Reboot?

“A Nightmare on Elm Street”, Wes Craven’s 1984 classic brought to life one of the most iconic villains in Horror cinema, Freddy Krueger portrayed by Robert Englund. “A Nightmare on Elm Street” solidified itself as a successful franchise, spanning nine films in total including a remake and a film crossover with “Friday the 13th”. The villainous Freddy Krueger became a part of  pop culture, a phenomenon that established itself alongside notable slasher favorites.

In 2010, New Line Cinema in collaboration with Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes rebooted “A Nightmare on Elm Street” with Oscar-nominated actor Jackie Earle Haley portraying the sweater/fedora wearing Freddy Krueger. However, the film went on to garner less than stellar reviews from critics and hardcore fans of the franchise.

Tracking-board.com posted an article on the 5th of August 2015, the reports states that David Leslie Johnson is confirmed to write the script to the next “A Nightmare on Elm Street” reboot. Fans of the franchise are salivating for more information to the next installment of”A Nightmare on Elm Street”since the posting of the article.

Freddy Krueger shares his thoughts…

In an interview with Red Carpet News TV, Robert Englund offered his guess as to what New Line Cinema is planning in terms of a potential “A Nightmare on Elm Street” reboot.  Of course Robert Englund’s comments are based on pure speculation and should be treated as such. In the Interview, Robert Englund suggests that New Line Cinema may reboot the third, and most popular entry to the franchise, “Dream Warriors”. The Original Freddy Krueger added that he heard a rumor that actress Tuesday Knight was in negotiations with New Line Cinema to reprise her role of “Kristen Parker” in the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” reboot.

Robert Englund concluded that he wouldn’t be reprising the role as the notorious Freddy Krueger, and perhaps have inclusion in the film with a cameo role. Take a moment to view the interview provided below, running time is under two minutes.
