Last month filmmaker Tom Paton hinted on information concerning his forthcoming film. The announcement via Twitter was vague and simple. A shooting date was provided. Yet nothing significant in context. From the accompanying hashtags, it’s clear Paton will serve as director and writer to an indie film.

The only defining clue was the image of a red X across a Cthulhu-like concept. Will Paton release a creature feature about a monster octopus? Doubtful. Paton nixed this theory when questioned by a curious fan on Twitter.

DecayMag received insight on Paton’s upcoming film titled; Black Site. The film may serve as the initial chapter to an upcoming Action, Supernatural franchise.

An expansive, potential franchise starter that spans a wealth of known mythology weaved in amongst something unexpected

Press Release Excerpt

Black Site is the latest production between AirPick Pictures and Tom Paton Film. Paton’s film begins principal photography in summer of 2017. 2018 becomes the target release date. Although a specific timeframe is still pending. This is according to the press release issued earlier today.

Remember that tweet Paton sent last month. Marketing brands Black Site as part HP Lovecraft part The Raid. Interesting idea. With this analogy, one can form a conclusion regarding the storyline. The film seems to have a fight-or-flight survival theme with bizarre creatures involved. Mike Beckingham stars in Black Site yet his position in the narrative remains unclear.
