Set in outback Australia, BOAR showcases the harsh and beautiful Australian landscape. Lurking within this picturesque setting is a dark and terrifying threat – a beast of staggering size with an uncontrollable desire for blood and destruction. Driven by its insatiable appetite for carnage, it defends its territory with brutal force and savagely takes on any who get in its way.
Boar is slated to release in Australia in December 2017. An official release date has not yet been announced. The Horror production has been picked up for distribution by Universal Pictures Australia.
The cast stars
The Boar trailer is packed with action and suspense. An abnormal-sized territorial boar hunts the woods, and stalks and murders trespassers. When a few locals hunted it, bloodshed follows as the body count rises. This being an Australian production, I have high hopes. Foreign Horror films are heavier on the violence and gore, while still keeping the plot and the quality of the film at bay.
Greg McLean’s Wolf Creek is a perfect example of this. Speaking of which, John Jarratt also stars McLean’s Horror slasher gore fest as Mick Taylor, a sadistic psychopath, who abducts his victims and tortures them in brutal ways. This also took place in the Australian outback.
Chris Sun is an award-winning filmmaker, who has a high presence in the Australia and International film scene. Boar marks his fourth film and his biggest film to date. His other works include Charlie’s Farm, Daddy’s Little Girl, and Come and Get Me.
