“The Chair” follows the story of Richard Sullivan, an innocent man, struggling to escape execution on death row. Witnessing the savage killings of his fellow inmates at the hand of the prison’s sadistic and psychotic Warden, Sullivan decides that the only way to survive is to fight back. But as he matches the brutality occurring in the prison, Sullivan is forced to come face to face with his sanity and his own horrifying past
Directed by Chad Ferrin “The Chair” is a Crime-Horror-Thriller. The Film is an adaption to the Alterna Comics Thriller/Horror Graphic Novel of the same name. Peter Simeti, Kevin Christensen, and Erin Kohut are the creators of the comic book.
Playing the role of the sadistic Warden will be multi-award-winning actor; Bill Oberst Jr.. He is known for “Deadly Revisions”, “Scary or Die”, “Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies”, and “The Retrieval”. Playing the lead role of Richard Sullivan is Timothy Muskatell. Muskatell’s credits include; “Deadgirl”, “The Ghouls”, “Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill!” and“Chop”.
“The Chair” is currently in post-production and awaits a release date. However, trying to get the ball rolling hasn’t always been a walk in the park. Roddy Piper, was on board in the film project. Piper who plays the role of Murphy in “The Chair” passed away during the post-production of the film.
The crew for “The Chair” started a campaign in 2014. Their first campaign was unfortunately unsuccessful. Their initial goal was $300,000 and ended on June 29, 2014. They only raised about $123,000 from backers in that campaign. As good as this is, it wasn’t enough to continue on. That didn’t stop them. They created another campaign with a different goal, which reached success. As of July 8, 2014 they had surpassed their goal of $40,000 within their deadline.
