David F. Sandberg’s “Light’s Out” Releases in 2016
David F. Sandberg’s “Light’s out”, is an award winning short film for ‘Best Short’ at Bilbao Fantasy Film Festival 2014 and ‘Best Director’ in the BC Horror Challange. Director David F. Sandberg, expresses the tale of a woman who turns out the lights to her home, only to witness a mysterious figure appear, but when she turns them back on, the figure is gone.
The short film runs under three minutes in length. In the allotted time a simple yet creepy visual exquisiteness is presented. News has surfaced that “Light’s out” will be getting a full feature adaptation with a release date set for summer 2016, the 22nd of July 2016 to be exact.
According to IMDB the official synopsis to “Light’s Out” reads as follows:
A woman is haunted by a creature that only appears when the lights go out. A feature adaptation of the 2013 short film, “Lights Out” by David Sandberg.
Attached to the project as producer will be modern horror maestro James Wan and Eric Heisserer. David F. Sandberg is slated to write and direct the film. “Light’s Out” will star; Teresa Palmer, Emily Alyn Lind, Alicia Vela-Bailey, Amiah Miller, Gabriel Bateman with Lotta Losten who had originally starred in the short film version. “Light’s Out” marks the second collaboration from companies; Atomic Monster and New Line Cinema.
