Overview

Stephen Michael Giglio makes his directorial debut with the viral outbreak themed horror film, Epidemic. The film will release September 25, 2018, on DVD & VOD this after Breaking Glass acquired the rights to the film. Filmed in Philadelphia Giglio presents an intriguing film that may fall under the body-horror arena. These are a class of films that have risen in popularity. The plot always present the protagonist undergoing a grotesque physical transformation.

Epidemic although listed as Horror on IMDb has heavy influences of a psychological thriller. Giglio touches on the “what if” theory of a fast-moving pathogen and the life of those afflicted by the virus. The Epidemic trailer offers a glimpse of the action without revealing too much information. There are hints of what appear to be zombies. If the walking undead is a part of the storyline it will of interest to see how co-writers; Giglio and Romanchik weaved this aspect. Will Epidemic be a run of the mill infection-themed film or will Giglio’s debut be a highlight in Horror cinema?
