The cast to the 1984 “Ghostbusters” film joined the new cast to Paul Feig’s gender reboot of the “Ghostbusters” franchise. Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd were on hand Saturday the 19th of September 2015 for their respected cameo appearances. The final day of filming to the “Ghostbusters” reboot was completed in New York City. Below is a slide show of the final day of shooting for the upcoming film/reboot “Ghostbusters”.
“Ghostbusters” is slated for a tentative theatrical release on the 15th of July 2016. The cast of characters to the film, “Ghostbusters” is as follows;
- Kristen Wiig as Erin Gilbert,
- Kate McKinnon as Jillian Holtzman,
- Melissa McCarthy as Abby Yates
- Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan
- Chris Hemsworth as the new secretary
- Andy Garcia as the Mayor of New York City
Its pleasing to see both generations of the “Ghostbusters” cast working together on the completion to the modernized version of the franchise. Original cast member, Ernie Hudson voiced his disapproval once news was released of an all female cast concept to the reboot. In an interview dated October 2014 with the Telegraph.Co.UK, Ernie Hudson is quoted in saying:
“I heard it was going to be a total reboot, and that it would have nothing to do with the other two movies,” he said. “If it has nothing to do with the other two movies, and it’s all female, then why are you calling it “Ghostbusters”? …But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don’t think the fans want to see that…. Maybe it will come out and be the most amazing thing, but in my opinion I think it would be wrong to do another movie that didn’t include the guys.
Now the wait begins for a glimpse to the film/reboot “Ghostbusters” once trailers hit the inter-webs.
