Overview

Saban Films acquired the U.S. distribution rights from Voltage Pictures for the upcoming psychological thriller The Haunting Of Sharon Tate. The film, based on a ghastly true crime that rocked Holywood in 1969. Actress Hilary Duff portrays the titular role engaged in events set against a Horror tone. Director Daniel Farrands offering a glimpse into the weeks leading up to her and her unborn child’s murder.

The basis to Farrands’ vision centers on a series of murders performed by a cult of four (4) individuals dubbed the Manson family. Five (5) victims were murdered during the Manon Family spree including Sharon Tate, then wife to film director Roman Polanski. Tate was eight and a half months pregnant at the time of her death. To this day Sharon Tate’s murder resonates as one of the heinous crime to have occurred in Hollywood.

Bill Bromiley Saban Films President and Jonathan Saba Saban Films Senior Vice President along with and Jonathan Deckter, President and COO  for Voltage Pictures completed the deal to acquire The Haunting Of Sharon Tate at the 2018 American Film Market (AFM), an annual film industry reception hosted at Santa Monica, California.

The Haunting of Sharon Tate is one of several Horror films acquired at AFM including; Rabid Directed by The Soska Sisters and Room For Rent from Director: Tommy Stovall.
