Inhabitants detailed look
Inhabitants from crowdfunding to Production
Lascaux Media took to crowdfunding website; Indiegogo to fund their independent Horror film; “The Inhabitants”. Although “The Inhabitants” was entirely self-financed, the contributions they sought were to cover the costs towards marketing and distribution to both domestic and International markets. Unfortunately, the campaign ended a little over two months ago, disappointingly receiving nine percent of their targeted goal.
“The Inhabitants” is a supernatural, horror, Thriller, shot entirely on location in Salem, Massachusetts during the winter season of 2013. More specifically, the filming for “The Inhabitants” occurred within The Noyes-Parris House. The site, a historical relic under current ownership of renowned American writer Glenn Cooper, know internationally for the best selling thrillers; “The Tenth Chamber”, “The Devil will Come” and “Library of the Dead”. Glenn Cooper also served as producer to the film,“The Inhabitants”. Making a horror film within the celebrity owned property sounds impressive in its own regard, However, there’s another informational tidbit, a dark backstory to the filming location of “The Inhabitants”.
Horror film “The Inhabitants” coming soon.
The synopsis of the film “The Inhabitants” is courtesy of IMDB and reads as follows:
A young couple gets more than they bargained for when they buy an historic bed and breakfast in New England only to discover that the old house is hiding a dark secret within its walls.
Most likely, the sinister history associated with The Noyes-Parris House served as inspiration to the film “The Inhabitants”. It is documented that previous owner; Rev. Samuel Parris was a Puritan minister in Salem, Massachusetts. His daughter Betty Parris and her cousin, Abigail Williams, accused Parris’ slave Tituba of witchcraft. The allegation would eventually spark the heinous sixteen month long Salem Witch Trials with Rev. Samuel Parris being the active prosecutor.
“The Inhabitants” is written and directed by Michael and Shawn Rasmussen, (also known as The Rasmussen Brothers.). Together they’ve written the script to the 2005 Horror, Thriller “Long Distance”. However, The Rasmussen Brothers are renowned for penning the script to the 2010 Horror, Thriller “The Ward”, directed by icon genre visionary, John Carpenter. Michael and Shawn Rasmussen would follow their achievement with the 2013 indie horror film “Dark Feed”.
