Raze, a horror/action film, focuses on two abducted women & 50 other women who are forced to fight each other using their bare hands.
Director Josh C. Waller brings us a story about a very shady underground business organization and abducted women turned into prisoners and fighters. Joseph, alongside with his wife, Elizabeth, owns a business, where random stranger women are abducted and taken hostage in a jail-like prison. They are forced to engage in brutal combat with one another and fight for, not only their own lives and freedom, but their loved ones as well. For, if they refuse to fight, or if they do not win a fight, their loved ones are threatened with death. The last woman standing will be the lucky one to earn her freedom.
Story/Plot – Even though this plot isn’t new, Waller definitely brings something new to the scene.
Direction – Waller does at very good job at the direction of “Raze”. I was surprised by how good this film is. It definitely deserves a higher rating than it has gotten.
Acting – The cast definitely does a superb job at owning their roles.
Originality – This idea definitely has been seen several times before. “Fight Club”, “The Hunger Games”, “Battle Royale”. The list goes on.
The Ending – All of that hard work for nothing. I was rooting for Sabrina. I, myself, was not a fan of the ending. Very disappointing. But that’s more of a personal opinion.
Imagine being abducted and thrown into a maximum security prison, where you are forced to fight for your life, your family, and your freedom. How far would you go to survive?
