The trailer opens up in a seminar. A man is showing a presentation of the Tower of Babel. The words “Inspired by true events” shows on the screen. We see a scene where two people are inspecting a dead body in a morgue. We see photographs of the patient. The cause of death looks to be asphyxiation. The words “An investigation into her sister’s death” shows on the screen. The next sequence shows people talking and a video being watched. Possibly a video about the young girl’s death.
The words “A symbol that leads to the truth” shows on the screen. Followed by another sequence of people talking. We see a little more of what goes on in the video. The words “The chosen will be sacrificed” shows on the screen. We an intense scene of something traumatic happening to a woman. The words “To resurrect evil” shows on the screen. An interesting scene where a priest talks to another priest about the Tower of Babel rising catches my interest.
The next sequence that follows is a bit intense. Some weird, paranormal things happen, including a young girl seemingly possessed by an evil entity. The words “On the seventh day” shows on the screen. Followed by another intense scene of demonic possession. The words “He will rise” shows on the screen. Followed by another intense sequence. The words “Get ready to believe” flashes on the screen. Followed my more intense scenes in between. The trailer ends with “The Offering”.
The original title is “The Offering”, but it also has a working title of “The Faith of Anna Waters”.
“The Offering” looks very dark and intense. There were quite a few intense scenes in the trailer. It looks like it’s taking a demonic possession path. But in a different sense than the ordinary demonic possession films we are used to. It’s also darker than ordinary demonic possession films. A young woman has died, and her sister investigates her death. This opens a whole new realm of of darkness and evil entities. The wealth of scenes in the trailer that have demonic possession in it makes me assume that “The Offering” will be about demonic possession. Also, there are talks of the Tower of Babel, so it could also be about the end of the world, or somewhere in that area.
There is a lot of action scenes in “The Offering” trailer. This is good, as not many films such as this has a lot of action in them. It reminded me of films like “The Exorcist” and “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”. I’d say “The Offering” is a solid film, and I can’t wait to see it.
