Trailer Summary

The trailer opens up to two men sitting on a living room couch, talking. Instantly, we are cut to a dramatic scene, where soldiers are staking out and shooting. We then see a very sudden scene, where two men appear to be fighting, maybe? We see another sudden scene of a couple by the lake. We instantly cut to night. Two men are by the lake, and a woman appears to be swimming in the lake. After we see another dramatic scene of, what looks like an animal of some sort shot dead, then again, more intense shooting.

Things finally calm down with a soft scene of a car driving. The words “In the haunting outback” appear on the screen. Followed by some gentlemen talking. The words “A mysterious predator” appears on the screen. Followed by a cut to the dark woods. A cut to a man and a woman talking. Then a cut to a group of people in the woods, looking like they’re searching for something. One of the men have a horrified look on his face, followed by a sudden scream. We then cut to another dramatic scene with intense shooting. Then another soft scene, where a man is held at gunpoint.

We cut to a scene where a man reveals a trunk filled with some kind of powdery substances. Drugs, maybe? We cut to another dramatic scene, where a man is trapped in a car. More intense shooting. What happens next is a sequence of clips with people talking and more shooting. The words “What is it” flashes on the screen, with another sequence of scenes where the people are fighting, what appears to be a gigantic creature. The trailer ends with “Red Billabong”.

I have mixed feelings about the “Red Billabong” trailer. Here, you have a series of random scenes kind of thrown together, and I don’t know what to make of it. I feel like I am watching three different movies, condensed into one trailer. You see scenes of a group of people that look to be friends, then you have scenes of soldiers that appear to be fighting something, then you see random scenes of a giant creature.

Based on the trailer, I would say “Red Billabong” looks to be a government secret kind of film. We’ve seen these films a lot in the horror genre; where some creation was made as part of a government experiment, ends up wrecking havoc on a small town, and government secrets are exposed. One thing is for sure, there are a lot of action scenes in the trailer, which is a good thing. The real “mystery” is the film itself. Red Billabong
