Since our October 2015 published report news remained still..until now. Jim Cirile and Tanya Klein of Coverage Ink Films launched a crowdfunding campaign for “Malevolent” just days ago.

“Malevolent” Seeks Crowdfunding!

Most indie Horror films center financial expenses on props, locations and special visual effect. These are just a few key resources necessary for live action productions. What’s the scenario for a Horror animated film?

Twenty one artists and colorists worldwide are working on the project. According to the Crowdfunding page the film is a year in the making. Although months away from completion internal financing are nearing exhaustion.

Jim Cirile and Tanya Klein of Coverage Ink Films are seeking public generosity. Their goal is to “make it to the finish line”. Proceeds will go towards post production. Assets such as sound mixing, scoring and color correction need completion. Extra artists and animators are also sought to maintain the project on its due course.

MALEVOLENT isn’t just a genre movie. It has something to say, and plays with themes of hope vs. hopelessness, redemption, social commentary and above all, finding the power within to fight back, even when the deck is so ridiculously stacked against us. This is a message we feel strongly about.

These figures coincide with the published date of this article. The production team are optimistic the crowdfunding goal is obtainable. With this in mind they’ve set stretch goals.

“Malevolent” offers an original story-driven narrative. The cast of veteran actors offer substance to the intriguing cast of characters. It makes sense to establish stretch goals to further develop the project. Imagine the possibilities! Two hundred seventy-five thousand dollars will bring “Malevolent” to graphic novel and role-playing card mediums.
