Remake to “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in Development

Remake to “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” to star Victoria Justice, Laverne Cox, and Ryan McCartan.

A newly engaged couple have a breakdown in an isolated area and must pay a call to the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

Well, the beloved classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” (1975) will be remade. I don’t know how I feel about this, Yet, I am excited for the cast line-up, so this gives me a glimmer of hope. I’m even more excited for director Kenny Ortega As we have seen great things from him, including such works as “This is It”, “High School Musical”, “Hocus Pocus”, “Gilmore Girls”, and “Ally McBeal”. Ortega had a successful directing career, winning 12 awards, including 3 Primetime Emmys. I think it’s safe to say he will bring the beloved classic to life and make it a success.

The remake is currently in pre-production, but still awaiting a release date. Currently, casting is developing, with Laverne Cox playing the mad, bizarre Scientist, Dr. Frank-N-Furter. It will be sad not to see the fabulous Tim Curry come back, but as we all know and must accept, “the show must go on”.

Yet, let’s not sulk for too long. Laverne Cox is quite the choice for the part. Her performances as Sophia Burset in “Orange is the New Black” and Cinnamon in “Carla” is awesome. She’s also had some appearances in “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” for which she did well.

So…who will be playing the main character of Jennifer Weiss? Victoria Justice. We’ve seen her in “Victorious”, “Zoey 101”, “Fun Size”, and “The First Time”.

Ryan McCartan will portray Brad Majors. Ryan McCartan Starred in a many films. His resume includes the films; “R.L. Stine’s Monsterville: The Cabinet of Souls”, “Summer Forever”, “Liv and Maddie”, “Royal Pains”.
