“Resident Evil” Returns to The Big Screen…
It’s been thirteen years since “Resident Evil” hit theaters. Erning huge box office success “Resident Evil” became a franchise that extended with five episodes and grossed more than 1 billion dollars worldwide collectively. “Resident Evil” films are based loosely on the survival horror video game “Resident Evil” also known as “Biohazard” by Capcom.
Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems have announced that the next installment to the “Resident Evil” franchise has commenced filming in South Africa. Almost three years have passed since the last entry to the Horror/Sci-Fi franchise. “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”, the sixth installment will pick up immediately after the events in the 2012 “Resident Evil: Retribution”.
“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” Cast:
“Resident Evil:The Final Chapter” is written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and is slated for a tentative theatrical release in January 2017. Milla Jovovich will reprise her role as the protagonist Alice, Ali Larter also returns in her portrayal of Claire Redfield. Also making a return in the sixth installment of “Resident Evil” is Shawn Roberts. Shawn Roberts took over the role of the villainous Albert Wesker from Jason O’Mara. Iain Glen “Resident Evil: Extinction” reprises the role of Dr. Alexander Isaacs. Other notable names added to the cast of “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” are Australian actress Ruby Rose as Abigail, Eoin Macken as Doc, Cuban American actor William Levy as Christian, Fraser James as Michael, and Japanese model, Rola, as Cobalt.
The official Synopsis to “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” is:
Humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.
