A group of friends attend the wake of a child they accidentally killed with their car. Once at the wake, they find themselves trapped and stalked by a masked assailant.
Five friends attend the wake of a young boy they accidentally killed during a DUI. After the sun sets at the wake a masked killer slaughters.
I’m not a fan of this film at all. The cinematography was not pleasing at all. There was too much over exposure, the camera angles were at an awkward low close up positions that were unflattering and also didn’t carry along the story. The Wake does not impress. The Performances were over the top and, unbarring. I would have preferred less dialogue. The film tried too hard for originality but at the end was all over the place. The film went into different routes and made little sense at all! If there would have been clues to tie the film together it would have done much better. The score was also all over the place! Instead of sticking to one type of ominous sound there were five to six vibes and each unpleasing.
The effects were okay. I did not feel dissatisfied with the flow of these visuals and how it portrayed on camera. That may have been the only part of the film that made the viewing experience bearable.
The Wake could have had true potential but if only it would have stuck to one storyline. The film suffers from bad lighting, camera angles and let us not forget the weak score.
