ReZort, Behind the Scenes Video

Rezort originally titled  “Generation Z” is an upcoming survival horror zombie film that began production back in August 2014. Directed by Steve Barker and written by Paul Gerstenberger the film is takes a somewhat unique approach on a timeless concept. Steve Barker is no stranger to horror cinema, his filmography includes the zombie thrillers; “Outpost” and “Outpost: Black Sun”. The film, “Rezort” bears resemblance to the survival horror video game  “Dead Island” developed by Techland and published by Deep Silver.

The synopsis to “ReZort” reads as follows:

Set in the wake of an apocalyptic zombie outbreak, the film centers on Melanie (de Gouw) and her boyfriend, Lewis (McCann), who visit a safari retreat – The ReZort – where every paying guest has a license to kill the undead. There they meet Archer (Scott), a former zombie hunter who has to step up when the security system at the ReZort crashes and unleashes thousands of bloodthirsty zombies back into the wild.

We have a combination of a  hunting theme park gone awry with flesh hungry zombies running amok. In a genre that truly calls for innovation and reinvention “ReZort” seems to fall in the both perfectly. In addition the film also feature some incredible special effects. As seen from the video montage below, the effects are subtle yet enough to draw interest in the film. This is a very clever trailer to promote “ReZort”.

The film was shot on location in Mallorca, Spain, and is produced by Matador Pictures.  No further information on theatrical and/or film festival releases are available at press time. We’re going to have to wait and see how the finished product looks, I’m interested myself in seeing how the Steve Barker and Paul Gerstenberger reinvent the zombie concept.

Some notable names star in the film and they include veteran actors such as Dougray Scott,   Jessica De Gouw, and Martin McCann with Claire Goose, Elen Rhys, Jassa Ahluwalia as supporting cast.
