The feature adaptation will be directed by Steiner and produced by Dan Dixon and FUME Films. The project will be introduced at the Frontieres co-production market in Montreal.
The Stomach Feature Adaptation The Details
“…The feature takes the audience into the same unique world as the short but introduces a major new character in the form of a corrupt and sexually deviant police detective.
This character has his own shocking reasons for wanting to harness the powers of the spirit medium whose method of channeling the dead gives the short, and now the feature, its name.”
Ben Steiner, DreadCentral
The Stomach has a very wealthy presence in the film festival world, winning several international awards. I can see why. The trailer is very distraught and disturbing. As a man lies in pain and agony, something inside of him is seemingly killing him internally. Whatever it is, looks to be growing inside of him.
In just under 1 minute, the trailer captures my attention. It has a slow and subtle, yet intense and dramatic approach, which packs mystery and suspense.
The cover art is dark and disturbing. It has the trappings of a Horror, Sci-Fi, Suspense, but it depicts a man on the brink of insanity.
Not much information on Ben Steiner’s feature is known at this time. Stay tuned for more details.
