“The Boy Who Drew Monsters” in Planning Stages

“The Boy Who Drew Monsters” is a horror novel written by Keith Donohue and published by Picador publishing in 2014. The movie rights to the novel were recently acquired by New line and is slated to be co-produced by notable horror director, James WanMichael Clear will also be co-producing “The Boy Who Drew Monsters” with through his production company Atomic Monster based at New Line. Script will be penned with the collaboration of writers, Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing.

The synopsis to the novel,”The Boy Who Drew Monsters” reads as follows:

Ever since he nearly drowned in the ocean three years earlier, ten-year-old Jack Peter Keenan has been deathly afraid to venture outdoors. Refusing to leave his home in a small coastal town in Maine, Jack Peter spends his time drawing monsters. When those drawings take on a life of their own, no one is safe from the terror they inspire.
