“The Conjuring 2” Production finally begins…
“The Conjuring 2” is finally in production, this despite a legal dispute almost prevented the movie from ever seeing g the light of day. Problems arose in the early part of 2014 when producer Tony DeRosa-Grund of Evergreen Media Group filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. The suit alleges that Warner Brothers refused to honor its profit sharing agreements with the company. Evergreen holds the rights to majority of and adapt the Warrens’ case files for the big and small screens. Warner Brothers was licensed the rights in exchange for a set purchase price for each theatrical feature and 5% profit sharing. Evergreen states that the the deal covered;
“just 25 of the approximately 8,000, which included the ‘Perron Farmhouse’ Case File, the ‘Annabelle’ Case File, and ‘The Enfield Poltergeist’ Case File.”
Warner Brothers was said to have also agreed to employ Tony DeRosa-Grund as an executive producer on all Warren-related projects.

“The Conjuring 2” Fast Forward to 2015…
Earlier this year, notable horror director James Wan erupted into the action genre, directing the adrenaline pumping, high octane entry of the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, “Fast 7”. James Wan returns to his roots in Horror, and he does so dramatically with a publicity stunt straight out of the pages to “The Conjuring” screenplay. New Line Cinema posted the content below on the 21st of September 2015 via their Twitter page.

Did James Wan try to exercise any remnants of bad mojo from the production’s legal troubles, perhaps not. Most likely the motive behind the unorthodox move is the fact that “The Conjuring 2” delves into the supernatural, and providing a safe, comfortable movie set was the utmost importance, regardless of religious outlook.
“The Conjuring 2” New Addition to Cast..
Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will reprise their roles as Lorraine and Ed Warren. New additions to the cast include Frances O’Connor and Simon McBurney and most recent reports from Deadline confirm Australian actress Lauren Esposito landed the lead role in “The Conjuring 2.” The project reunites the original production team of Producers Peter Safran and Rob Cowan. The screenplay was written by Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes & James Wan with revisions by David Leslie Johnson.
“The Conjuring 2.” is slated for theatrical release on the 10th of June 2016.
