The Witch award winning Thriller

The Witch,  a Gothic horror thriller award winning film was written and marks the directorial debut of Robert Eggers. A24 released the trailer back in August 2015 when the film was making the rounds at the Sundance film festival. The setting for the Horror / Thriller “The Witch” takes place in New England during the 1600’s and revolves around a family and the tragic case of their missing children. Slated for release sometime in 2016, “The Witch” stars Anya Taylor-JoyRalph Ineson and Kate Dickie 

The synopsis to the film “The Witch” reads as follows:

New England, 1630: William and Katherine lead a devout Christian life, homesteading on the edge of an impassible wilderness, with five children. When their newborn son mysteriously vanishes and their crops fail, the family begins to turn on one another. ‘The Witch’ is a chilling portrait of a family unraveling within their own fears and anxieties, leaving them prey for an inescapable evil.

The first poster bearing a goat was released in August 2015, the second newly released poster featuring a crow was released the 13th of November 2015.
