Zombies, its agreed is one of the most popular sub-genres in Horror cinema. Since its start in 1968, the undead has taken over every medium imaginable. The concept is mainstream. The subgenre got a surge of popularity with Danny Boyle’s 2002 release. Yet, this is where the debate and divide begins.

Boyle introduced a new threat in his film. Living infected hosts replaced the traditional slow moving corpses. Zack Snyder fused the infected concept with the undead with his reboot released in 2004.

How does this small introduction tie into Jason Mills’ upcoming zombie film? Based on the trailer Mills also infused the best of both threatening worlds in 3 Hours till Dead. On display are the traditional slow moving cannibal corpses. Yet, its the fast moving infected that amps the adrenaline factor.

Trailer First Impressions

The 3 Hours till Dead trailer showcases heavy blood and carnage. The use of practical effects is always a welcome aspect to any horror film. When executed with effectiveness make-up practical design can help elevate the production.

It will be interesting to see whether 3 Hours till Dead is non-stop action from the opening scene. The trailer does well in baiting the viewing with a high octane adrenaline rush. Regardless, the zombie sub-genre has such a huge following. Whether it’s a slow boiler or a fast chain of events 3 Hours till Dead would be a welcome addition to the genre.

With a running time of under two minutes the trailer for 3 Hours till Dead doesn’t convey much of the storyline. This is a good ploy to entice viewership. Another mystery is the contribution from the cast. Since the zombies were in the forefront the portrayals had limited presentation. Its difficult to grasp the quality of the acting with the lines delivered.
