Film Mode Entertainment has a long slate of Horror films scheduled for a 2019 release. One of the upcoming titles is the supernatural Thriller titled; Broken Ghost. Scheduled for release on the 12th of February 2019 the film revolves around a family transitioning from the city to a quiet rural town. The adjustment of life comes with its complexities in the form of spectral disturbances and locals.
Broken Ghosts is touted as a female-driven film that encapsulates commentary on bullying and empowerment.
“We’re thrilled that folks are going to be able to experience our movie, we had a ball making it”
“I was so taken by the originality of the script. Imogen’s story of rising above harrowing bullying and depression really took hold of me, and to be able to tell it on such a large canvas. I love ghost stories, but the human elements, including the empowerment of the female leads in Broken Ghost are what makes the film so special to us.”
Richard Gray, Broken Ghost Director
“The entire Film Mode Entertainment team is excited to be working with Richie Gray and the Yellow Brick Films team again on another enthralling film that raises the genre bar to the next level.”
“With his keen sense of taught storytelling and perfectly placed scares, and a remarkable cast that draws the audience in from the start, we are looking forward to moviegoers across North America having the opportunity to see the film for themselves.”
Clay Epstein, President of Film Mode Entertainment
The trailer provides enough information into the mystery, supernatural element of the plot. Broken Ghost has a sense of familiarity and it should as it follows the trademarks of a haunted house tale. The adobe’s sinister history unfolds, and it involves a gruesome murder, suicide. The question here is whether the strange occurrences are products of psychological or supernatural origin.
It will interest to see how the story develops. Sometimes these mysterious supernatural Thrillers have a clever plot twist in ACT III other times not so much. The protagonist seems to have solid character development. From the trailer, it is clear Imogen Day portrayed by Autry Haydon-Wilson has a dark history of her own. What is she running from, the embarrassment of a leaked sex tape, perhaps? This adds curiosity to subplot provided in Broken Ghost.
