Trailer Review

A wide overhead shot captures a gothic apartment complex towering over a New York City Street. This archaic edifice is menacing. There is an unnatural presence to it. The scene is clever with introducing the building as the lead character. This is not the first time in Horror cinema that an inanimate object is the center of death and mystery.

It doesn’t take long before jump scares attempts to entice fear. Yet, it is the developing narrative that takes center stage. From the gathered visuals, we can conclude that Havenhurst shelters more than just tenants.

There seems to be a sinister element lurking within the walls. Whether it is a being of supernatural origin or a killer in the midst, this is uncertain.

The scenes provided in the trailer present Mystery, Thriller vibe. While Horror aspects are evident viewers will notice an emphasis on the whodunnit factor. A missing couple, secret cavernous crawlspaces, a mysterious landlady. These elements come together to conjure a slate of questions.

Erin’s film is a production that catches attention. Curiosity has reservations for the final reveal.

Stay tuned to DecayMag for our upcoming review for Havenhurst.
