Overview:

Maggots is a film in a class by itself. There are many films of this caliber and it draws a cult following. Whether it is for the campy approach to Horror and Sci-Fi or B-Movie like quality many appreciate this cinematic craft. Renowned Actor, Producer, and Stuntman Bobby Bragg direct this production, a reverence to classic creature feature/alien invasion films.

For Maggots, it is challenging not to scrutinize the less than stellar production quality. Yet, these compositions pride themselves on this level of a cinematic excellence or absence thereof. Take, for instance, the creature effects, it is a non-threatening cartoonish CGI render that parallels work presented in any SyFy film.

First Impressions

The trailer with its rapid succession of spliced scenes offers little to dissect there is plenty of contexts to follow regarding the plot. We find the typical action sequences ripe with B-Movie stylized acting. A band of survivors is in a battle with invading insects, to be specific giant maggots with claws. It will interest many to see what the origin story is behind these intergalactic creatures. With the universe filled with threats ranging from killer klowns to killer tomatoes, I wonder how carnivorous towering maggots come into play.

Maggots is far from a serious toned film. Expect laughs and scenes worthy of many facepalm moments. Bragg’s latest film will cater that empty Sunday afternoon void of boredom. Perhaps get a group of friends together for a pizza Horror viewing. Maggots is now available via DVD and video on demand streaming via Amazon.
