My Pet Dinosaur, although marketed for the Family genre best serves as a Science Fiction entry. The film is the second feature for Matt Drummond. A release date is not yet confirmed. It is reported that My Pet Dinosaur will premiere at European Film Market.

The film explores a union between a long extinct dinosaur and a young boy. This concept does stray away from typical portrayals to these colossal creatures.

Trailer Review

DecayMag Matt Drummond My Pet DinosaurThe trailer has a running time of under two minutes. Based on the footage it is evident where the concept for My Pet Dinosaur leads. Presented are fragments of familiar plots and characters.  In term of originality, Drummond does well in creating an engaging narrative.

As usual, the military complex has a villainous portray. No surprise. A group of young adults is caught trying to defend a creature they’ve come to love. This too is a situation offered many times over. Yet, a pleasant chemistry flows in Drummond’s concept.

The highlight for My Pet Dinosaur is the creature concept. The design and CGI render appear polished and co-exist with the live action environments. That is a statement rarely awarded from this author. The dinosaur does not parallel designs from similarly themed films. To sum, the CGI render offers a quality audiences will adore and connect with.

From the trailer, it becomes evident that mankind has the fault in the reemergence of a species. It seems pollution and a disregard for Earth’s care are the underlying social commentary.

The cast for My Pet Dinosaur includes the talents of;

Jordan Dulieu

Annabel Wolfe

Christopher Gabardi

Tiriel Mora

Stay tuned to DecayMag for more developments as it becomes available.
