First Impressions

From Global Digital Releasing comes a new film The Passing is about a troubled young couple who crash their car near an old farmhouse. The vehicle gets recovered by Stanley, a stranger that lives at the farmhouse. My first impression is how haunting and beautiful the cinematography is. The film takes place in Wales which has a gloom forecast and bright clouds.Lighting is natural and the essence of horror is present. The inside of the house is decorated yet still holds time and history, making me curious to know what secrets are harboring there. Camera movement is subtle yet engaging. We know the ghost of a particular young boy is present.

There is high tension by the young couple which was well portrayed on screen. Even if they were in the same room the distance between them was evident. I’m curious to know their history. What have they been though? Why is there such distance between them now they are recovering from a car accident on this ramshackle farm? Who is this child ghost?
