The Tribe official trailer is an intense emotional Drama, Suspense, Thriller. The film appears to be complete with religious undertones. Three sisters; Jenny, Sarah, and Danika become victims to a group of extremist. These predators seem influenced by radical religion.
These fanatics prey on the youngest sister, Danika, (portrayed by Chloe Beth Jones). It is the belief that they consider her to be the chosen one. Together, Jenny (portrayed by Jessica Rothe) and Sarah (portrayed by Anne Winters) must fight to protect their sister.
Can they and save her from the clutches of the group of religious fanatics?
The short teaser trailer, Sisters Divided, shows Jenny and Sarah in a confrontation. The man they encounter is Ryan (portrayed by Michael Nardelli).
Sarah tries to talk sense into Jenny, her eldest sister. The topic becomes about this strange man, and how he’s come between the sisters. This may be his ultimate plan, as we can see in the official trailer, things become hectic
The Tribe reminds me of those religious, occult type of movies. A group of men powered by religion feels they need to do the Lord’s work. They feel that they are the chosen ones to complete some kind of mission.
Movies like this are usually very intense, which is a good thing when they work. There have been countless films of these kinds in Horror cinema. Yet, they tend to be among some of the most successful films in the circuit.
Religion in Horror cinema seems to be a major backbone. Consider the films today, the majority are paranormal, supernatural, and religious in nature. The best examples are films on exorcisms.
Shih’s film takes place following a catastrophic event that wiped out much of the world. Remaining are a few lucky survivors. Their luck begins to run out when they become haunted by a group of crazed maniacs who feel they are superior. This alone is an intriguing plot.
