First Impressions:

The computer animation (CGI) used to create true to life apes is impressive and a major reason to see the movie! The cinematography is so well paired with the special effects. Images of the apes interacting with each other, humans, and even the environments traveled during this war is stunning. Lighting is set perfectly to capture the facial emotion of the apes and humans.

The location is key for any film, here the settings are exotic. These are well-scouted regions designed to give the film an extra element between Caesar’s (Andy Serkis) and the Colonel’s (Woody Harrelson) journey to save their world.

In conclusion:

From the ripping sound effects to the visually stunning scenes, the film is very much worth the theater experience. Caesar proves his wits and his emotional stand for his kind.DecayMag.com War for the Planet of the Apes Mark Bomback, Matt ReevesPierre Boulle
