Unbidden, Offers Asian Horror With Indie Flair

Unbidden, first trailer released!

At first glance the trailer appears to be a soon to be released Asian Horror film. Scenes contained within the trailer provide elements of a traditional ghost story.  Also evident in the trailer are the tension and mystery, aspects of a compelling Horror film. Yet, “The Unbidden” is not a upcoming release from the land of the rising sun. In fact, the film will premier domestically by Margin Films.

Quentin Lee directed “The Unbidden” based from a script penned by Narhee AhnTamlyn TomitaJulia NicksonAmy HillMichelle Krusiec and Elizabeth Sung star. This upcoming Horror film is a female driven production and features an all Asian cast.

The synopsis reads as follows:

The Unbidden is a thriller about four women confronted by a mysterious young man who knows a dark secret from their past.

A quartet of longtime girlfriends come together in the hopes that a séance will protect them from a dark presence that won’t rest until one of them is destroyed.

 Director Quentin Lee expressed his view on his upcoming feature, “The Unbidden”.

“…If you’re a fan of the horror, psychological thriller, family melodrama or Asian American film genres, you’re in for a treat, not a trick…”
“…Our intention was to create a wildly original independent feature with an all Asian-American cast that aims to not only entertain with shocks and thrills, but bring on the debate about difficult emotional issues. This is a female-driven film that deals with domestic violence and the morality of retribution….”

The film is scheduled to premier Spring 2016 via Film Festival Screenings. A date for public distribution and/or screenings has yet to be announced.  Stay tuned for further developments on Quentin Lee’s upcoming supernatural Horror film.
