But when skeptical San Francisco psychiatrist Eric Price is dispatched to the estate to evaluate her state of mind, he discovers that her obsession may not be so insane after all. Production will begin March 2017 for the supernatural Thriller Winchester. CBS Films acquired the U.S. distribution rights to this production from Bullitt Entertainment and Diamond Pictures. The production will film in and around San Jose, California and in Australia.

Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig will convert the true accounts of Sarah Winchester in dramatized form. Sarah led a tragic adulthood. Her one-month-old daughter Annie Pardee succumbed from malnutrition. Sarah’s husband William Wirt succumbed to tuberculosis. The year prior her father-in-law, Oliver also died. Sarah became heiress to the Winchester Repeating Arms Company after the departing.

A widower, Sarah spent her years alone at home. She developed a profound interest in the occult and supernatural. As a result, Sarah spent her fortune converting the dwelling into a sprawling maze. The uncanny design of the home serves to confuse spirits. These are allegedly restless entities killed at the hands of the Winchester repeating rifle.

The construction on the mansion would become a twenty-four hour seven day a week process. Today the Winchester mansion remains one to the most haunted places in the world.

World renowned actress Helen Mirren will portray the role of Sarah Winchester.

“We were immediately obsessed with the Spierig brothers intelligent and twisted take on a great American legend and could not be more excited to be working with the Spierig brothers and Dame Helen Mirren to bring this film to audiences”
