David Riordan Delves On Mutant Ants, Future Of Video Games
David Riordan Exclusive Interview
On June 8th, 2017 I interviewed filmmaker Marko Mäkilaakso, and thus began our coverage of It Came From The Desert. On May 21st, 2018 I interviewed lead actress Vanessa Grasse on her role in It Came From The Desert. On Wednesday, June 6th, 2018 I connected and concluded coverage to the film in our interview with David Riordan, developer of the game to which the film is based on.
According to IMDb Riordan served as Director, Writer, Producer for video game content with credits beginning in the early nineties. Below is a list of Riordan’s notable works;

In addition, Riordan worked in television serving as a documentary producer. Before starting his career on interactive media. Riordan served as an advisor for Lucasfilm, His skills in media also enter the audio production spectrum. Riordan boasts a number-one music hit back in 1970.
It Came From The Desert released on May 29th, 2018 and orders are available via iTunes. The synopsis reads:
A pulpy, action monster movie, inspired by Cinemaware’s cult 1980s video game “It Came from the Desert”. A nostalgic tribute to creature features from the 1950’s, It Came From The Desert features rival motocross heroes and heroines, kegger parties in the desert, secret underground military bases, romantic insecurities…and of course giant ants.

The narrative style of gameplay that drives The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series popularity is a concept embedded in early video game history. Creature features from the 1950’s were the inspiration for Riordan to develop It Came From The Desert. This science fiction retro title distributed in 1989 by Cinemaware for the Amiga gaming console. Much like The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series, It Came From The Desert give players a choose your own adventure with dialogue boxes and action cutscenes.
