A projection of my latest experiences and adventures is what it’s all about.”

Nostalghia

Timestamp 01:42:00

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPdH_v5e090

Just six years ago, California-Iranian native, Nostalghia, found herself homeless in North San Fernando Valley. After breaking into a dingy piano room to sleep for the night, her life would change forever. At the time, the untrained siren didn’t even know she could sing or play. That piano , in that room, in that time, would teach her everything she would need to know. Soon after, she met collaborator Roy Gnan and they released their first independent album, Chrysalis

THE TITLE FOR CHRYSALIS WAS BORN THROUGH A SYNERGETIC CONVERSATION WITH MY DEAR FRIEND AND LONG TIME COLLABORATOR ROY GNAN. IT WAS BORN FROM A KNOWLEDGE WELL BEYOND OUR SCOPE OF COMPREHENSION, AN INTUITION NOT YET UNDERSTOOD BY THE MASSES. MUSIC, THE INVISIBLE ALLURE, GUIDING ME ON THE WINGS OF CLAIRVOYANCE, WHISPERING HER SWEET NOTHINGS INTO TWO THIRSTY EARS. SOON, IT WOULD BECOME CLEAR, THAT WHAT I WAS TO EMBARK UPON WOULD BE NOTHING SHORT OF A LIFE FULLY LIVED. A LIFETIME, OF CELEBRATED TRANSFORMATIONS.

I Ya Toyah

Timestamp 02:24:00

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ztw03Jh7pY

I Ya Toyah is of Polish descent. She came to US from Poland as a young adult, building her life from square one, and withstanding multiple challenges and struggles trying to establish her identity in the unknown. She gained musical experience while working with various bands and being the part of many projects of different genres. She then noticed that the biggest problem in bands is to stay on the same page when it comes to the passion and commitment.

Projects kept breaking up, time kept passing… and she finally decided to disrupt the pattern and do something different. One girl show….and the album that would be self – written and self – produced from scratch to finish. Mission impossible, many told her. She then bought digital audio workspace, midi sequencer software app, and some instruments, followed by neverending time investment. Several months later, today, the album is almost finished, currently being mixed and mastered by Brad Pack of Punchy Kick, who took great belief and interest in I Ya Toyah’s music.

Code Blue is the latest album from I Ya Toyah and can be purchased here.
