Ronen Landa, Film Composer

On Thursday, December 7th, 2017 I had the pleasure to interview Mr. Ronen Landa here is a description based on the press release received earlier this week.

Ronen is known for invoking gut-wrenching dread with just a chord. His ability to play that music on an almost unearthly collection of exotic instruments allows Ronen to ratchet the terror to an 11. In Eloise, Landa states that “The cinematic style conjured the filmmaking of classic noir thrillers, so my approach was to intertwine the jazz-inflected orchestrations of that era with more contemporary elements”.

As a music aficionado interviewing musical composers are one of my personal favorites It is interesting to hear the viewpoints of musicians and composers especially when it comes to the progression of music from traditional instrumentation to electronic music compositions. I do use the wording electronic music, not EDM but the use of keyboard synthesizers and of course MIDI programming which is an acronym for Musical Instrument Digital Interface which is the standard for composing electronic based musical compositions

Landa’s Work spans across more than 10 years in the film industry. he has served in the capacity as musical composer soundtrack and the music department his works include;

2016/II Cradle (Short)

2014/Speak of the Devil (Video documentary short)

2014/VI At the Devil’s Door

2012 A Haunting in San Pedro (Video documentary short)

2012/II The Pact

Here’s some information on the film Eloise
