Resident Evil, the $1.2 billion Action, Horror franchise will be getting a reboot according to an exclusive report from Variety. Johannes Roberts will direct and write the first installment and the film may lead to another chain of chronological events surrounding throngs of cannibal corpes, thefictitious Racoon City and The Umbrella Corporation

Principal photography is reported to begin sometime in 2019 and a cast has yet to be drafted and finalized.

The story centers on an idealistic young doctor who tries to solve a mystery and heal its most difficult patient.

Twentieth Century Fox, New Regency, Maximum Effort, Vertigo Entertainment are collaborating on the project. Yet, no further updates are available which includes, director, writer, cast.

The crowdfunding campaign for Cowgirls vs. Pterodactyls proved successful with thirty-six backers contributing three thousand six hundred eight dollars ($3,608) towards a three thousand dollar ($3,00) goal. 

This independent Horror film will incorporate stop motion animation combined with live action cinema. Joshua Kennedy will direct and features the stop-motion animation of Ryan Lengyel.

The synopsis:

The year is 1888 and an enormous prehistoric pterodactyl has been preying upon a small Texas desert town. When her husband is eventually taken by the creature, rebellious schoolteacher Rebecca Crawford decides to take matters into her own hands. She enlists the help of local brothel keeper Debbie Dukes Riley Masterson III and down-on-her-luck sharpshooter Bunny Parker to help track the monster down before it lays more of its dastardly eggs.

Aaron Mento is a writer, director, and producer of extreme comedy/horror genre entertainment. After getting his Master’s Degree in Film Production from Loyola Marymount University, Aaron Mento wrote and directed the eerie sci-fi comedy Standards of Living, the first feature film to be shot entirely on an iPad. He also shot and edited the film which received rave reviews from Rue Morgue Magazine and Ain’t It Cool News.

Next, Aaron Mento co-created and directed Choose Their Kill, a choose-your-own-adventure slasher comedy for Eli Roth and Crypt TV. His ambitious new feature film, Ugly Sweater Party, is an outrageously campy horror comedy starring Felissa Rose and Sean Whalen.

Charles Chudabala was born in Los Angeles, CA and was raised in the Inland Empire (San Bernardino County). He attended California State University, Fullerton, where he obtained his Masters Degree in Counseling (Marriage and Family Therapy). After a successful career in the mental health field, he decided to jump into his lifelong passion, acting. Charles’ affinity for the horror genre led him to pursue this niche only.

Since 2014, he has starred in and produced over 56 genre films which include (2 Jennifer and Escape From Ensenada) His upcoming film Ugly Sweater Party has made several top 10 list of most anticipated horror movies of 2018. Charles believes that filmmaking should be fun and wants to continue producing smaller scale projects with a major impact, while inspiring artists to pursue their dreams. In November 2018, he will direct his first horror fantasy short film Nightshade.

David Guglielmo and Nick Chakwinboth attended School of Visual Arts in NYC where they majored in directing and won numerous awards for their short films. Upon graduating, they moved to Los Angeles whereNickwas hired to pen pop-star Sia’s feature screenplay and soon be her directorial debut. David worked his way up the ladder as a casting professional, with over 20 film and TV credits in two years, and started his own company as a casting director.

Together, Nick and David co-wrote, produced, and directed the feature film No Way To Live, which was released by Gravitas Ventures and is now available on Hulu and Amazon Prime. Dennis Dermody of Paper magazine called it “A Southern Gothic Noir with more twists than a pretzel!” and Film Threat hailed it as “a new kind of movie experience”.

For their second feature as writer/directors, they teamed up with 2017 Academy Award-nominated producer Howard Barish (13TH) to make Hospitality, a contained thriller starring Emmanuelle Chriqui and Sam Trammell. Their coming-of-age horror screenplay The Young has received glowing praise from The Blacklist and is currently in development.
