A contest is now open for creative writers. The theme for the competition revolves a certain group of aspiring sorcerers. Their quest? To rid a sinister entity wreaking havoc among the innocence. Yet, do these brave souls have what is required of them to defeat their power adversary? The description best sums the narrative of The Magicians.

Penned by American author Lev Grossman The Magicians embarks toward its second season on SyFy. The much anticipated debut airs on the 25th of January 2017. Battle the Beast Writing Contest

In anticipation of The Magicians upcoming season Wattpad, the global entertainment platform for original stories unveiled;

Battle the Beast contest

The story of Quentin Coldwater on a mission to destroy The Beast, contestants are tasked with creating a chapter in his adventure that will be turned into a digital short to be featured on The Magicians social profile. Writers are challenged to create a 1,500 word short story describing how Quentin and his friends battled The Beast. The top 10 stories will be presented before and judged by the show’s creator, Lev Grossman, and the winner will receive $10,000.

Get the creativity flowing, there are only a few weeks left before the contest disappears. Submissions deadline is Wednesday the 8th of February 8, 2017. Battle the Beast contest is open to U.S. residents 18 years or older. It is of importance to read the enchantments of legal lingo, in other words, the contest guidelines.  

This appears to be a grand opportunity for creative writers and enthusiasts of The Magicians mythos. Best of luck to all entrants.
