Insane Jane Press Release
The creators behind the upcoming unique super hero television project “ insane Jane” revealed a first look sneak peak at the initial design concept for the costume to be worn by actress and producer, Miracle Laurie (who will play the eponymous Jane).
“Insane Jane,” based off the cult comic book from Bluewater/StormFront Productions is currently in development. The concept drawing by artist Hal Laren shows Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse alumnus Laurie decked out in her hero (“The Avenging Star”) costume.
“One of the things I love most about this process so far, is how this incredible world from the comic book translates so effortlessly to TV. The costume is a marriage of both visions and just one example of the awesome collaboration I’m talking about. I can’t wait to wear it! ” said Laurie.
The comic book series was created by Darren G. Davis and written by Zach Hunchar. It is a story about a deluded, yet-well-meaning heroine who believes she has super powers, and is being developed as a television series, produced by Laurie.
“It is SUPER amazing to see Jane’s costume evolve to include the little tweaks we made for the TV Show. I could not be more honored and excited! ,” said screenwriter Tracy Morse.
The character made her debut in 2010 and added a unique take to the pantheon of superhero literature. Original writer Zachary Hunchar describes her: Take youthful energy. Add in some over-active imagination. Mix in some powdered donuts. Sprinkle it with delusional disorder and you get … Insane Jane! She’s the kookiest action hero of the 21st century.
“Seeing this come to life is a dream come true. It is wonderful how close they are staying to the source material,” said creator Darren G. Davis.
The production has not yet secured a distribution deal, but anticipates several suitors given the original concept and the high quality of the content.
Storm Productions (formerly Bluewater Productions) also has film projects developing with Universal Studios and Paramount Picture and other studios for their titles “ any & Hank,” “Legend of Isis,” “10th Muse,” and “Sinbad Rogue of Mars.”
Insane Jane is in graphic novel form and can be purchased at comic book stores, bookstores and on Amazon. It is also available digitally on ComiXology Trajactory, Madefire, BitLit, ComiXology, DriveThru Comics, Google Play, My Digital Comics, Overdrive, Iverse, iTunes, Kindle, Biblioboard, ComicBin, Nook, Kobo and wherever eBooks are sold. Print is still on Amazon.
