Split Lip Kickstarter Launched For Limited Edition Book

Split Lip celebrates its 10 year anniversary. Content creator Sam Costello launched a Kickstarter To commemorate this prestigious event. Are you unfamiliar with Split Lip? Costello established the Split Lip website in October 2006.

The venture provides an avenue to publish uncanny and fright-inducing content in literary form. Featured on the website is an anthology of self-contained horror comics penned by Costello. Over the course of 10 years Costello 45 stories, 6 books, and 8 illustrated novels. Yet, the theme presented does not center on a distinct perception towards Horror. Sam Costello describes Split Lip as follows:

“….It is often compared to The Twilight Zone and Night Gallery. Influences include writers like Shirley Jackson and Clive Barker, comics creators like Junji Ito and Emily Carroll, ghost stories, folk tales and murder ballads….”

Artists from across the globe contributed their talent with illustrating the literary works. Featured are artwork from:

  • Kyle Strahm (Spread, Image)
  • Sami Makkonen (Deadworld, IDW)
  • John Bivens (Dark Engine, Image)
  • T.J. Kirsch (Amy Devlin Mysteries, Oni)

Crowdfunding Campaign

The target of $6,500 is set towards the publication of a hardcover book. “What Lies Inside: The 10th Anniversary Split Lip” is a 350-page printed volume. It will feature a collection 13 illustrated novels. Several highlights include; remastered and new literary works, a cover gallery, and behind-the-scenes material. Plus much more….

This is a limited series print of only five hundred (500) copies. Each copy will be numbered and signed by Sam Costello.

The Kickstarter has only 9 days remaining. As with the norm for crowdfunding campaigns the more you donate the better the rewards. Of course, extending financial support towards unique, artistic Horror ventures is the ultimate aim. Yet, amenities are always a welcome addition.
