Bates Motel: Season 5: Brooke Smith Joins Cast
Bates Motel: Season 5: Rihanna Also Joins Cast
Brooke Smith has been reported to join the cast of Bates Motel in season 5. The newest, and final season to the Drama, Horror, Mystery television series will premiere in 2017.
Brooke Smith’s character will be Sheriff Dana Green, a competent, professional, moralistic sharp. Also reported to join the cast in the final season as Marion Crane, is Rihanna.
Brooke Smith is famously known for her performance in Grey’s Anatomy, but if it wasn’t for her showing her talent in other projects that are in the same ballpark as Bates Motel, I would have raised a brow.
Preferably, her performances in Criminal Minds, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and especially The Silence of the Lambs, definitely sheds some light on how she would adapt to a more dark series.
Rihanna is famously known for her amazing singing and dancing talents, but she has also had her share of films as well. Mostly films geared towards musical cinema, but she’s starting to get her feet wet in more deep, in-depth roles. Let’s not forget her performance in Peter Berg’s Battleship (2012).
Future films for Rihanna are Luc Besson Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017), which is currently in post-production, and Gary Ross’ Ocean’s Eight (2018), which is in post-production.
Bates Motel would probably be Rihanna’s darkest role in cinema yet. And, to learn that she’s taking the lead role of Marion Crane is exciting news. It will be interesting to see how the R&B diva grasps this role.
Bates Motel has received a lot of positive responses and reviews from viewers. Creators Anthony Cipriano, Carlton Cuse, and Kerry Ehrin has done a spectacular job in re-imagining the original Alfred Hitchcock 1960 film in a more modern television adaptation, and telling the story of Norma and Norman Bates.
Unfortunately, season 5 is slated to be the final season of the Drama, Horror, Mystery series. The premiere date has not yet been confirmed, but it will premiere in 2017.
