Blood Drive Series Details

Series Creator: James Roland

Set in a near-dystopian future, the series features a former cop, who is forced to take part in a death race in which cars run on human blood as fuel.

Blood Drive is the latest series to hit Syfy. Supernatural and science fiction themes are typical for the network. Series creator James Roland is rolling out with a new concept. (pun intended). Blood Drive is going to be a different vehicle, one with violence and grittiness at the helm. The goes another pun.

Based on the synopsis it is easy to gather the many cliches and references made to film. Blood Drive even takes a page out of George Miller‘s post-apocalyptic story. One of the highlights of the Blood Drive series is the female protagonist.

Actress Christina Ochoa portrays badassery at its finest. In the opinion of this author, Ochoa’s character is most favorable. Alan Ritchson plays the sidekick much as Tom Hardy did. Blood Drive is a refreshing pace on its own. Presented is a concept that infuses Action, Horror, and Humor. The most appealing part of this artistic anarchy is the Grindhouse aesthetic.

It remains to be seen if Blood Drive garners the attention of the masses. Syfy has had more misses than hits in recent years. 12 Monkeys only lasted three seasons, Hunters never continued past its debut season.
