Penny Dreadful Season 3 Synopsis

Explorer Sir Malcolm Murray, American gunslinger Ethan Chandler, scientist Victor Frankenstein and medium Vanessa Ives unite to combat supernatural threats in Victorian London.

The Cast Lineup

Penny Dreadful Season 3 will include new and returning stars, including Patti LuPone, who made an appearance in Season 2 as the Cut-Wife. She will return in Season 3 as Dr. Seward, an American therapist who treats Vanessa with an unconventional new approach.

Returning Stars

Wes Studi, who also appeared in Season 2 will return in Season 3 as Kaetenay, an intense, enigmatic Native American with a deep connection to Ethan.

Sarah Greene  will return as Hecate.

Simon Russell Beale will return as Ferdinand Lyle.

Rory Kinnear  will return as John Clare, “The Creature”.

Harry Treadway  will return as Dr. Frankenstein.

Eva Green will return as Vanessa Ives

Josh Hartnett  will return as Ethan Chandler

Reeve Carney  will return as Dorian Grey

Timothy Dalton will return as Sir Malcolm Murray

New Stars

Sam Barnett (“2012”, “Jupiter Ascending”) will join the cast as Dr. Steward’s mysterious young secretary

Jessica Barden  (“Hannah”, “The Lobster”) will join the cast as Justine, a young acolyte to Lily and Dorian Gray.

Perdita Weeks (“As Above, So Below”, “Prowl”) will join the cast as Catriona Hartdegan, a scholar with expert knowledge of the supernatural.
