Overview

“Van Helsing” the television series is materializing. The 2004 action, adventure, fantasy by director Stephen Sommers is getting a television adaptation. Be expecting some changes.

“Van Helsing” (2004) Film Synopsis

Van Helsing is in the world to rid all evil, even if not everyone agrees with him. The Vatican sends the monster hunter and his ally, Carl, to Transylvania. They have been sent to this land to stop the powerful Count Dracula. Whilst there they join forces with a Gypsy Princess called Anna Valerious, who is determined to end an ancient curse on her family by destroying the vampire.

The legacy of Van Helsing dates back to the 1800s. His first appearance as Professor Abraham Van Helsing from the gothic horror novel “Dracula”. The Van Helsing character appeared in many outlets. Films, television series, books and stories, comics, and games. One thing that has always been constant: the Van Helsing character has always been male. Until now. For the first time in the history of “Van Helsing”, the lead character will be a woman.

Kelly Overton (“The Ring Two”, “Tekken”, “The Collective”) from “True Blood” will star in the new lead role as Vanessa Helsing. Nomadic Pictures will distribute the “Van Helsing” television series in Canada. Fallout Asylum and Dynamic Television will distribute in the U.S. and internationally.
