I Spit on Your Grave Franchise
In 1978 Meir Zarchi shocked the world of cinema with the sexploitation revenge horror/thriller “Day of the Woman” (aka “ I Hate Your Guts” aka “The Rape and Revenge of Jennifer Hill” ). The film had a limited theatrical release, received poor reviews from critics and mixed sentiments with movie-goers. Negative feedback for “Day of the Woman” stemmed from the film’s amplified scenes of gratuitous violence and rape. Re-released in 1980 under and commonly know today as “I spit on Your Grave” the film went on to garner cult status and become a prominent piece of horror cinema.
Two lesser established, yet unrelated remakes borrowed on the premise to the film, “I spit on Your Grave”. The first was released in 1985 titled “Naked Vengeance” and the second occurred in 1993, a purported sequel titled; “Savage Vengeance” written and directed by Donald Farmer.
Given modern aesthetics, “I spit on Your Grave” was released theatrically In 2010. Steven R. Monroe would direct the official remake based on the original story written by Meir Zarchi. In 2013 the lackluster direct to DVD / Blu-Ray sequel (and official sequel) would follow titled simply as; “I spit on Your Grave 2”

The synopsis reads as follows:
“Jennifer Hills (Sarah Butler) is still tormented by the brutal sexual assault she endured years ago (I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE 2010). She’s changed identities and cities, reluctantly joining a support group where she begins to piece together a new life. But when her new friend’s murderer goes free and the tales of serial rapists haunt her, Jennifer will hunt down the men responsible and do what the system won’t – make them pay for their crimes in the most horrific ways imaginable. Only this time, no jury may be able to save her.
Jennifer Landon (“The Young and the Restless”), Doug McKeon and Gabriel Hogan (“Heartland”) co-star in this unforgiving, unmerciful and uncut new chapter of one of the most notorious franchises in movie history.”
