Exclusive Interview with Creative Team Behind “Bubba the Redneck Werewolf”


DecayMag.com Exclusive InterviewToday, I had the opportunity to interview Director Brendan Rogers and Producer Will Phillips.  The creative duo behind the upcoming Horror-Comedy indie film, “Bubba the Redneck Werewolf”.

Here’s a snippet of information For those of unfamiliar with “Bubba the Redneck Werewolf”. The concept was a creation by Mitch Hyman, in 1996. You can read more about its origins on the official site:

Brendan Rogers and Will Phillips worked with concept creator Mitch Hyman on the film. “Bubba the Redneck Werewolf” had a limited run in October of 2014. A release to the public is coming soon. The team also worked on global distribution. Stay tuned, we will have a release date soon.

The synopsis to the film is:

Cracker County is under attack and lovesick dog catcher Bubba Blanche has been transformed into a ferocious, cigar smoking Werewolf in order to save the day. But first he’s got to conquer a beer or two. And maybe a plate of chicken wings.

Brendan Rogers and Will Phillips  go in-depth detail on “Bubba the Redneck Werewolf”. They discuss their experiences filming it. They share their most memorable experiences with the cast, and challenges they’ve run into.

Brendan Rogers touches on the differences of the film to the comic book series. Which are minor, they attest. But, in all, the film stays in-sync with the comic. They also touch on outcomes and the possible future for Bubba. They also give in-depth description of the film itself and what it’s about.

Will Phillips discusses  changes to the film. He also delves into the possibility of producing sequels to the film.  The duo also go into the release date to the film and explain more about it’s delay.
