The ninth annual Women in Horror Month (WiHM) Massive Blood Drive introduced an exciting campaign to heighten awareness of the lack of donors. The organization each year collaborates with Twisted Twins Productions for an extraordinary call to action, the value of donating blood.

The world is a scary place right now and its easy to feel powerless when you can’t fix it all. Blood donation is one thing you can do right now that will directly impact and potentially save the life of another person.
This year the organization curated visual works from a diverse roster of filmmakers and will present their segments over the next thirty (30) days. The final installment of this campaign will release March 1st, 2018. Viewer discretion is advised, these public service announcements (PSA) convey Horror tones and intense visuals
Los Angeles-based Director, Writer Joe Magna kicked off the WiHM Massive Blood Drive PSA campaign. His contribution titled Be Positive published on YouTube on January 31st, 2018. Be A Hero delivers an action-oriented vibe provided by Atlanta-based filmmaker Vanessa Ionta Wright. This segment began circulation on YouTube February 1st, 2018. Dayna Noffke, another Atlanta native and established filmmaker in Horror cinema offer her contribution to WiHM Massive Blood Drive with the noir-inspired Sanguino.
Each of these films as with the forthcoming slate of participants is unique yet communicate a meaningful message, be a blood donor. Using Horror as a podium for social commentary is nothing new. Unlike other film genres Horror can translate subjects with its adoption of symbolism and metaphors.
