“Among The Sleep” Awakens on PS4
“Among The Sleep”, a unique psychological horror game makes the transition from a PC exclusive to the PlayStation 4 console. Kristina Halvorsen, chief of marketing & community development at Norway based Krillbite Studio made the announcement via the PlayStation blog.
What makes “Among The Sleep” truly unique is the premise offered in game play and story line. The player is not a gun toting soldier or a crafty post apocalyptic survivor. The protagonist of the game “Among The Sleep” is a toddler. Kristina Halvorsen provides the following summary:
Among the Sleep is a psychological horror game where you play as a two year old child. You get to experience the world through the eyes of a toddler with a vivid imagination that could easily scare your pants off. We wanted to create an atmospheric horror game with an eerie feeling of helplessness.
“Among The Sleep” was redesigned from the ground up to meet the specs of the PlayStation 4 console. Krillbite Studio, The young game studio faced many challenges associated with the conversion of “Among The Sleep” physics engine from Unity 3.0, to the current version Unity 5.2. In the blog post, Kristina Halvorsen adds
One of the coolest things in the PlayStation version of the game is the full audio-visual upgrade — Among the Sleep now has even better graphics and an even better sound experience. We think frame rate is an essential part of a good game experience and have worked hard to get the game to run at a proper 60 frames per second. This was probably the biggest part of the upgrade and it makes for a super smooth experience and does a lot for immersion!
The re-release to “Among The Sleep” will be available via the PlayStation Store on the 10th of December 2015, just in time for the holiday season. Kristina Halvorsen extended an invitation to partake on the psychological horror game,”Among The Sleep”, she finalized the blog with the following comment:
We are so proud of the PS4 version of the game and can’t wait for you to get your hands on it! You guys will be one of the first to be able to experience the commentary edition!
