Dear Charlotte a Much Sought After Survival Horror

Dear Charlotte is an upcoming video game from India-based developer Method to Madness Studio. The title will release as an episodic set for PC gaming platform. Dear Charlotte is a welcome experience for every enthusiast of survival horror  genre. Method to Madness Studio aims to reinvigorate the dormancy of Horror within video games.

Survival Horror is a struggling gaming concept. The current landscape finds itself over-saturated with HD remasters and zombie FPS. Action/Horror video games are the common play at the nearest Gamestop. Products of instant gratification. Where are the titles that offer little in with atmospheric tension and dread? Last month the cancellation of Allison Road shocked the gaming communityMany considered the independent project from Lilith Ltd to be the spiritual successor to Silent Hills PT.

On the 3rd of July 2016, Method to Madness Studio unveiled Dear Charlotte. The announcement trailer provides a view to a masterpiece of jaw-dropping visuals. Bloody, grotesque creatures, and a mysterious protagonist. These are the elements of a terrifying experience.

In Dear Charlotte, players assume the role of a nameless protagonist. Amnesia clouds the mind of this individual, thus blurring all traces to his background. Players must piece together the character’s backstory. Another component to the game is in escaping from The Quantic Medical Research Facility. He’s trapped and surrounding him are mutations from a deadly outbreak.

Most of the in-game elements do mirror that of survival horror games of yesteryear. Yet, this is not a bad thing. It is these nuances that define an engaging horrifying gaming experience.

Assisting the mysterious protagonist is Dr. Kremlin. Then again the aid could be a ruse. Once conflicting information becomes available. No word yet on the release date for Dear Charlotte. Stay tuned for more information as it develops.
