Friday the 13th Crowdfunding Campaign.

Friday the 13th the game initiated a crowdfunding campaign back in October 2015 and was initially covered in our article titled: “Friday the 13th” Game Camps on Kickstarter.  Since then “Friday the 13th” the game featuring the villainous serial killer Jason Voorhees not only met its funding goal of seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000) but also surpassed the margin with an additional eighty-four thousand dollars ($784,000).

Developed by Gun Media and Illfonic  in association with “Friday the 13th” film creator Sean Cunningham is slated for release across The PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC gaming platforms.  Gun Media’s Executive Director Randy Greenback shared his thoughts on the successful funding campaign to “Friday the 13th” the game:

This has been a rollercoaster ride from the start. From announcing Summer Camp, to becoming the official Friday the 13th game, and now we have the backing of a legion of fans? To say I’m excited would be putting it lightly. I’m downright ecstatic!

“Friday the 13th” the game is marketed as a third-person survival horror game with an engaging multiplayer mode in which different players will have distinct roles and capabilities. The premise although not unique in perspective will feature on player in control of the serial killer Jason Voorhees while seven players will take control of camp counselors.

The setting will be a “semi-open world” and of course the backdrop will be at Camp Crystal Lake based from the film franchise. The overall objective is survival. Kedhrin Gonzalez, Creative Director at Illfonic Studios ensured that “Friday the 13th” the game will be a terrifying experience and will satisfy the palette of survival horror gamers, he stated:

Anyone and everyone who calls themselves a fan of the horror genre will enjoy this game. The weaker minds? Well, they may need to sleep with the lights on for a while…
